Clear Aligners
Confidence starts with a smile you love
Clear aligners gently straighten your teeth with custom-made, transparent trays, tailored to your individual needs with 3D digital scans and precision planning.

What are clear aligners, and do I need them?
Clear aligners are removable, nearly invisible trays designed to gradually move your teeth into alignment. Unlike traditional braces, they don’t use brackets or wires, making them a comfortable and subtle option for adults and teens alike.
They are often recommended if you have:
- Crowding or gaps between teeth
- Crossbite, overbite, or underbite
Your Clear Aligner Journey
1. Initial Consultation
We start with a full assessment, digital scans, photographs, and X-rays to determine your suitability and create a customised plan. You’ll get to see your customised plan, with a virtual simulation of how your teeth will be straightened.
2. Custom Aligner Fabrication
Your digital 3D scans are used to fabricate a series of custom aligners designed to move your teeth in small, targeted increments.
3. Fitting & Instructions
We’ll provide your first aligners and show you how to wear and care for them. You’ll need to wear them consistently—22 hours per day—for optimal results.
4. Regular Check-Ins
Every 4–6 weeks, we review your progress and provide your next aligners. You only pay for the aligners you take home with you each visit.
5. Retention Phase
Once treatment is complete, retainers (removable or fixed) are provided to maintain your new smile long-term.

Before & After
How do clear aligners work?
You’ll wear each set of aligners for 1–2 weeks before moving to the next. Aligners must be worn 22 hours a day, removed only for eating, drinking (other than water), brushing, and flossing. With consistent use, they gradually shift your teeth into their ideal position.
At Oaks Dental, we offer Invisalign® along with other leading brands such as Spark and Angel Align, tailored to your individual needs with 3D digital scans and precision planning.

Clear Aligners vs Braces

Frequently asked questions about Clear Aligners
How long does treatment take?
Most patients complete treatment in 6–18 months. Minor corrections can be quicker, while complex cases may take longer.
Are clear aligners effective?
Yes — aligners are highly effective for mild to moderate crowding, gaps, and relapse after braces. For more complex bite or jaw issues, braces may be recommended.
Do clear aligners hurt?
Mild pressure or tightness is normal when switching to a new tray, but discomfort is temporary and usually less than braces.
Can I eat and drink while wearing clear aligners?
No — remove aligners before eating or drinking anything except water. Brush before reinserting to keep them clear and hygienic.
What if I don’t wear them 22 hours a day?
Inconsistent wear delays progress and may require repeating stages. Commitment is key for best results.
Can I get aligners if I’ve had braces before?
Yes — many adults use aligners to correct orthodontic relapse without going back to braces.
Are clear aligners covered by health insurance?
Yes — most private health funds cover Invisalign and clear aligners under Orthodontic Dental cover. We can check your rebate on the spot and confirm your out-of-pocket cost.
What happens after treatment?
You’ll need retainers to keep your smile aligned. Options include clear removable retainers or fixed wires behind the teeth.
How much do clear aligners cost?
Costs vary depending on case complexity and treatment time. At Oaks Dental, you’ll receive a clear, upfront quote and flexible payment options. You’ll only pay for the aligners you collect at each visit.
